Los Fresnos’s Guillermo Gonzalez (3-0-0) had his third straight win with HERO FC on June 6th at “HERO FC Best of the Best V.” He defeated Samuel Sifuentes by TKO in the 1st round of their 160 pound catch weight bout. I had a brief conversation with Gonzalez after his fight.

Q: Your opponent seemed like he didn’t agree with the referee’s decision, was that what you saw?

A: He didn’t agree with it, but he was done. He couldn’t defend himself. We wanted more, but he does that a lot. He’s a kid and he has a big mouth.

Q: This is your third win, where do you go from here?

A: I’m on to the next fight. Whoever they give me, I’ll take it. I had a good weight cut this fight.

Q: We have seen a lot of your striking, but talk to me about your ground game. How is your whole game coming along?

A: My striking is my strength. That is what I focus on. I like dropping people. I know I need to work more on my jiu-jitsu and wrestling.
