Friday, September 26th, at the Mesquite Arena in Mesquite, Texas, Iron Mike Productions will be making its “Lone Star” promotional debut in bringing quality boxing entertainment to North Texas.

Headlining the eight bout fight card, dubbed “The Big Texas Throwdown”, will feature Super WBA Bantamweight Champion Anselmo “Chemito” Moreno (32-2-1, 12 KOs) as he defends his coveted title against undefeated Juan Carlos Payano (15-0, 8 KOs) from the Dominican Republic.

The scheduled twelve round main event will be Moreno’s first bout since staging a virtual boxing master class against Javier Nicolas Chacon in March. The sharpshooter from Panama used his superb footwork against the 33 year old title challenger to move in and out of punching range, while firing quick combinations to the body and head. The defending champion floored his rugged Argentine opponent twice and ultimately earned a wide unanimous decision.

The highly anticipated WBA Championship fight will be the southpaw assassin’s thirteenth title defense since earning the distinction in May of 2008.

Enjoying the highly anticipated title bout from ringside will be former Heavyweight Champion Iron Mike Tyson. The boxing icon turned fight promoter is looking forward to evaluating the great Texas based talent for future projects and events.

“The state of Texas is the home to some of the toughest fighters and best boxing fans in the country. I’m thrilled to promote my first event there on Friday, September 26th.” stated boxing legend Mike Tyson. “With the highly anticipated bantamweight world title fight and a host of the Dallas-Fort Worth area’s finest boxers, local fight fans are set for an outstanding evening of entertainment.”

Also featured on the talent enriched fight card will be Middleweight prospect Charles “The Future” Hatley (23-1-1, 16 KOs). The popular Dallas based fighter will be taking on veteran Richard Gutierrez (28-13-1, 17 KOs) from Arjona, Colombia in the ten round co-main event of the evening.

Top rated Featherweight Robert Marroquin (23-3-1, 16 KOs) will also be making his return to the squared circle in an eight round special attraction against knock-out artist Miguel Soto (12-3, 12 KOs) from Puerto Rico.

Representing the Rio Grande Valley will be undefeated Cruiserweight prospect Raphael Murphy (9-0, 7 KOs). The heavy handed Harlingen resident will be taking on upset minded Gary Tapuosa (6-1, 5 KOs) from Independence, Missiouri in a six round special preliminary feature.
